Sensory department

The Sensory department is dedicated to meeting the needs of pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). Our pupils learn through their senses so our curriculum is designed to develop skills in communication, cause and effect, learning about objects and people whilst ensuring that meaningful access to the National Curriculum and the different aspects of the wider world is optimised through a multi sensory approach. We have access to two fully equipped sensory rooms and are very able to meet a wide range of medical, physical and care needs. If you would like to know more about how we meet our pupils' educational needs please contact the Deputy Headteacher leading the Sensory Department; Miss Nicky Read and for health and therapy needs speak with our Welfare Manager; Mrs Bev Toovey.
