Thinking Skills

Thinking Skills- getting organised!

Don't jump in! Think about it first! Many pupils need to be taught to plan ahead and think things through. They need to be taught to spot the patterns- to identify what are the causes, what are the processes and what are the results. They need to learn about simple logical processes such as applying a rule to a new situation, identifying a rule from a pattern of events, evaluating results, testing different options and eliminating those that don't work. Pupils learn many of these skills through scientific investigation but we also want to teach them across the whole curriculum.
