Teaching Assistant/s Level 1-  

Full time Permanent

22.5 Hours per week   TTO Grade B   Spine 03 to spine 04

9.30am- 2.45pm Main school

9.40am- 2.55pm Sixth form

£16727 - £17030 PA or £11.09 - £11.29 per hour

 

The school caters for students aged 11 to 19 who have severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple disabilities and some have additional complex behaviours. The successful applicants will be part of a school team working with teaching staff and Level 2 and 3 Teaching Assistants in providing guidance, support and education for pupils. This may include, support in lessons, personal care, therapy and communication programmes within both small group and individual situations.  Although these posts will initially start in one department all applicants should be willing to work with any class throughout the school.

 

We are seeking to employ positive, enthusiastic people whose personal attributes will contribute to a team of staff fully committed to ‘going the extra mile’ for our pupils’ needs. It is essential that the successful applicants will have experience- in either a paid, voluntary or in a personal capacity- to demonstrate:

1)     Performing a caring/supportive role.

2)     The physical ability to continue to support secondary aged pupils through periods of Challenging Behaviour strictly following the principles and procedures of the school’s training programme (which prioritises avoidance of this need).

3)     Successful experience of team work.

 

Experience of working in an educational environment and/or with people with learning difficulties is desirable but not essential. SEN Tutor, Sixth Form Permanent post

36 Hours per week plus 2 weeks TTO - Grade G spine 23-28

£27221 - £31348 PA

 

Our school provides for students aged 11 to 19 who have severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple difficulties, ASC and a small number of whom have additional complex and challenging behaviours.

 

We are seeking to employ a positive, enthusiastic HLTA whose personal attributes will contribute positively to a committed team of staff. The successful applicant for the post will be required to plan and teach within our FE department, initially working with pupils with ASC and/or severe learning difficulties. Much of the curriculum will be based around life skills and learning in the community.  For the more formal teaching of English and maths teachers will be timetabled to deliver lessons.  There will also be a pastoral role liaising with parents and carers.  This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on the future opportunities of this very special pupil population. 

The candidate must have –

 

·         Level 3 TA qualification or above and proven classroom experience in the TA3 role.

·         Experience of planning group or class learning for children or young people.

·         The ability to develop strategies to allow pupils with complex needs to access learning and promote positive behaviour.

·         The ability and confidence to successfully lead a team of staff and to liaise with other teaching staff across the school.

·         The ability to form supportive relationships with parents/carers to ensure the best outcomes for pupils at Cromwell.

·         Be physically robust to be able to support children through a behaviour crisis.

·         Experience of working in an educational environment and/or with people with learning difficulties is desirable for the post. 

·         Demonstrate a high level of written and spoken English, ICT and maths skills.

WELFARE ASSISTANTS- Grade: A

7 ½ hours per week TTO Grade A   Spine 01 to spine 02 (£9.96 - £10.06 per hour)

11.45pm to 1.15pm Monday to Friday term time only.

 

School has a vacancy for lunch-time assistants.  We are a Special School for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties aged 11-16yrs.

 

We are seeking to employ a positive, enthusiastic person.

You will need:

v  a positive attitude to people with disabilities,

v  the ability to work well in a team,

v  successful experience of caring for people.

If you have experience of working in a school and/or with people with learning difficulties, autism, or other disability that is even better.

Casual Contract:

Grade D spinal column point 7, £11.11 per hour. (Pay award pending)

 

To work as and when necessary during times of staff shortage due to illness or to cover a period of recruitment.

 

Our school provides for students aged 11 to 19 who have severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple disabilities and a small number of whom have additional complex and challenging behaviours.

 

We are seeking to employ positive, enthusiastic people whose personal attributes will contribute positively to a committed team of staff. The successful applicants for the post will need positive experience of:

·         team work

·         performing a caring/training/teaching role either professionally or personally

It is desirable but not essential to have success experience of:

·         working with people with a disability, especially learning difficulties

·         working in an educational environment
