Coronavirus

Coronavirus: To try to protect as many pupils and their families as possible and keep them safe from the virus pandemic, school has been closed to the majority of pupils from Monday 23rd March and only open to especially vulnerable pupils and those of key workers on the government's key worker list. Please keep yourself and your family safe through 'social distancing' at this difficult time!

School will be keeping up to date with guidance from the Government and Local Authority and update parents accordingly.

Tours of the new building

The building is on track for pupils to return for 9am on Thursday the 7th September. If you would like to bring your child to look around the building we will have an open house for tours on Friday 1st September 10.30am-2.30pm.

All on time for September

We hope that everyone is having an enjoyable summer! We are extremely pleased to announce that everything is on schedule for our building work to be completed in time for staff to get ready for the pupils' return on Thursday 7th September! With the help of Tameside Council contributing additional money to the project, we have been able to remodel the damaged section of the school to make it far more appropriate for educating our pupils in the 21st Century. Gone is the long, thin, dark corridor and instead with have a bright and welcoming 'social hub'.

Helping our partner school

Helping our partner school- a message from Mr Foord - Over the last week, and for the forthcoming period, I have been asked, and agreed, to help out at Samuel Laycock School. They have had the truly bad luck to lose their Headteacher to ill health at the same time that the their Chair of Governors has had to resign- although he has been replaced with an experienced governor, Mr Flint.
