Care

We are fully experienced at meeting the Health and Personal Care needs of a wide range of pupils in partnership with ISCAN (Tameside's Integrated Services for Children with Complex Additional Needs). We work closely with our:

  • School Nursing Team
  • Speach and Language Therapist and assistant
  • Physiotherapists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Social Care team
  • Hydrotherapy instructor
  • Personal Care

We have our own team of excellent Care Assistants led by our Welfare Manager to meet the Personal Care needs of all of our pupils. This includes support for all forms of support with continence difficulties and support for our female pupils as they grow.

Medication and Health Needs

Some of our pupils need medication in school time. The school Nursing Team will usually discuss this with parents and where this is necessary it is fully supported by school staff. Please see our medication section under "Information for Parents". All pupils with significant health needs will have a Care Plan developed by the Nursing Team which school staff will follow. If parents wish for any changes to the Care Plan these will need to be discussed with the Nursing team as school staff cannot amend the Care Plan and must follow it in detail.
